2006 in review
To celebrate the new design, premature meme banality. Feel free to ignore.
- What did you do in 2006 that you’d never done before? Explored.
- Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? My only resolution was to have more fun. Not sure whether I kept it.
- Did anyone close to you give birth? No.
- Did anyone close to you die? No.
- What countries did you visit? Spain, United States.
- What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006? Complete, final financial stability. I think I’m nearly there. Kinda.
- What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? 11 Sep 2006.
- What was your biggest achievement of the year? Deciding / deducing my future direction.
- What was your biggest failure? Not following that direction soon enough.
- What was the best thing you bought? Ys or the multi-tracker.
- Whose behaviour merited celebration? Jo Berkeley’s. Decided what she wanted to do, and did it.
- Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed? Has to be Bush, as always.
- Where did most of your money go? Loan repayments (student debt, still…), CDs, beer. But mostly the loans.
- What did you get really, really, really excited about? Holiday to New York, my career.
- What song will always remind you of 2006? Guillemots - We’re Here.
- Compared to this time last year, are you
i. happier or sadder? Happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? Maybe a few pounds thinner.
iii. richer or poorer? Hard to say. More in control = richer in the long run.
- What do you wish you’d done more of? Learning.
- What do you wish you’d done less of? Complaining.
- How will you be spending Christmas? In Cornwall with family. Looking forward to it.
- Did you fall in love in 2006? No.
- How many one-night stands? None.
- What was your favourite TV program? Police Squad. Does that count?
- Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? No.
- What was the best book you read? Crime and Punishment.
- What was your greatest musical discovery? The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower (even though they’re splitting).
- What did you want and get? New experiences.
- What did you want and not get? A flute.
- What was your favourite film of this year? Don’t know. The Departed? Casino Royale was surprisingly good.
- What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Barbeque. 27.
- What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Love.
- How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006? Same as always.
- What kept you sane? Learning.
- Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Aleks Krotoski.
- What political issue stirred you the most? Iraq, still. Or that video of the cops tasering the UCLA student. (Warning: seriously, it’s pretty unpleasant. Click only if you’re sure.)
- Who did you miss? Anya.
- Who was the best new person you met? Can I say myself?
- Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006. Negativity is the biggest flaw in the human psyche.
