The FA Cup

Sunday’s FA Cup semi being Cardiff’s biggest game for 81 years, it’s also the biggest game I’ll have been to - and it’s dominating my thoughts right now, even though there are a dozen strange and wonderful things going on around me. It’ll also give me a chance to exercise my architectural fetishism re: stadiums (no, not stadia). Much as I love the Millennium, the cachet of Wembley is hard to resist.

You know, I find myself having more of a sentimental admiration for sportsmen and women as I get older. The dedication of one’s life to a single moment: very noble. I’m not sure I could say the Cardiff City players quite fall into this bracket yet, but two more victories and I just might change my mind…

Good work, and a goal worthy of winning a semi-final to boot.

Do you fancy your chances? Portsmouth weren’t at all convincing on saturday.

I don’t think it’ll be easy. They’re a very good side with (in my opinion) one of the best keepers in the Premiership. But you never know…

Sober yet? At least the Bluebirds did better than the Blues on Sunday… One good team in Cardiff!
