Two artists polled the musical tastes of the American public, then composed two songs containing the most widely-loved and -hated musical components. The Most Wanted Song is short, bland and unpleasantly reminiscent of Luther Vandross. The Most Unwanted Song is over twenty minutes long, and features tubas, rapping opera singers, accordians, and (hideously) a chorus [...]
Well, they’re not exactly new, but I’ve only recently got round to mixing and uploading them. That’s all the culture I can muster for a while; enjoy. – Cennydd Bowles – My Lady Of The Sea [AAC, 4.3MB] – Cennydd Bowles – Ursa Major [AAC, 3.1MB] – many thanks to Sélène for backing vocals
It’s very late and as such I’ve yet to work out how important an announcement this is. Hasn’t even hit Digg yet. Radiohead have a new album coming out. In ten days. It’s been so long I’m just going to declare a moratorium on the previous two months. There’s so much to report I can’t possibly know where to begin. Suffice to say, the job’s excellent and challenging, the house hunt is arduous and vaguely depressing, and the lack of kitchen is putting the waistline under increasing [...]
Pandora are shutting out non-US customers. A damn shame, and probably not the last problem internet radio is facing. That said, I always thought Pandora was too technical – splitting down music to its constituent parts and reassembling them in an utterly mechanical way. Not enough emotion, not enough variety, particularly for us humanist types. [...]
